Elvi Energy selected by ENEL and Fondazione Symbola as excellence in the power industry

Elvi Energy, subsidiary of the group Electro Power Systems is one of the 100 Italian Energy Stories that Francesco Starace, CEO and General Manager of ENEL S.p.A. and Ermete Realacci, president of Fondazione Symbola will present next Tuesday 19 April 2016, to the European Parliament in Bruxelles.
ENEL and Fondazione Symbola have in fact collaborated to create a report featuring the best technologies and key players in the power industry ‘Made in Italy’. This report, whilst not claiming to be exhaustive or an academic study, was presented in Rome on November 2015 to create awareness on top success stories ranging from generation to distribution, from equipment maintenance to household energy efficiency. Businesses, research bodies and associations in Italy have been taking this path towards a sustainable energy.
As written in Elvi Energy’s profile at pag. 64 of the report: ‘When there is simply no energy grid at all, keeping solar plants, batteries and even diesel generators all operational at the same time makes the difference between having electricity and being without.
But the technology of the Milan-based company is useful also in developed countries and in “on-grid” areas, where “Working with Toshiba, ELVI has made a storage system for electricity from renewable sources for Terna and Enel, which allows energy produced from clean sources to be saved in lithium-ion batteries, and distributed on the grid when needed”.
